Compassion in Jesus's Name

Morning Worship...what should I expect?

There is coffee and some breakfast-type food in the Living Room before the service starts, so you are welcome to come early, get some refreshments and visit before everything starts. If you have kids from babies until 5th grade, you can drop them off at their classroom before the service starts. Doors to the classrooms open at 10:45am. When you enter our building, turn right and the classrooms are down that hall. Check out the Children's Department for our available classes.

In order to drop off your children, you MUST pick up a colored wristband for you and your child. The numbers should match and in order to pick up your child, you must present your matching wristband. We don't want to make things overly difficult, but our children't workers are instructed NOT to release a child to someone without first confirming the wristband numbers. Even if you and the worker are best friends. Remember, it's all for the safety of our children.

Also, for the safety of our children (and yours), please do not enter the children's department unless you have a child to drop off (and a colored wristband to prove it) or to pick up your child. We want to make sure that everyone is protected and safe. Can you tell that protecting the little ones is a major priority for us?

Also at 10:45am, the doors to the worship center opens. Be sure to get a listening guide, registration card and pen from the table in the living room before everything kicks off!! About 3-5 minutes before the service begins, the countdown starts. It's loud!!! When the countdown hits 0:00, the lights will go down and the band will start worship so start heading into the worship center to find a seat when you hear the countdown start.  Somewhere in the middle of the worship set, there are some announcements and a short prayer time before the band finishes up worship. Feel free to clap, dance, sing loud...however God has created you to worship. Our worship is contemporary, so expect it to be a little on the loud side.

After the band is finished, the teaching will begin.  The listening guide you got before the service comes in handy here. It's traditional at NLCC to yell "I know that's right, baby" when Doug makes a point that you agree with. At the end of the message, you will be asked to fill out the registration card (Awwwww...) and put it in the basket in the back.  We also have a joy basket (Whooooooo!!!!) for tithes and offerings in the back.  WE DO NOT EXPECT ANY GUEST TO GIVE ANY MONEY! Our service is a gift to any guest, so we never ask you to give unless you feel God's leading.

If you would like to see what a typical service looks like, please check out one of our past messages.
