"The church is filled with hypocrites!" ...Yep.
"Those people are messed up!" ...You betcha.
"That bald guy looks silly!" ...We whole-heartedly disagree. We believe bald is beautiful!
Any way you want to look at it, the local church should be a place for sinful, messed up hypocrites to go to in order to seek Christ and His forgiveness and abundant life! Sometimes it seems like the church is a courtroom to judge your failures instead of a hospital to nurse your hurts. NLCC strives to correct that. We want you...the you that you want to hide from Christians for fear of judgement...to come and experience Christ in a real way.
From the beginning of NLCC, we’ve tried to build a place that was real. Maybe our slogan should be "only real people allowed." That's because if you want to pretend you are perfect, we can't identify with you and you don't need what we have to offer. If, on the other hand, you know that you are messed up, and you want to find forgiveness and grace and peace to get free from your past, then by all means come and join us.
We fully understand that real people have real problems and that real life can be messy. But, the good news is that God has given us real answers in the Bible. And as we study the Bible, we discover that the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is available to His followers to face their every-day problems. And we have discovered that the key to truly significant life change is obedience to God's Word.
Warning: we are not normal! We believe that church should be fun and relevant. So, if you're tired of doing the same things over and over and getting the same results, then why don't you give New Life a try? We think you'll be glad you did.
These are the basic creeds that guide and define our church.
Mission Statement New Life Community Church exists to reach people who are far from God and help them connect with God and with other people.
Core Values: All people matter to God. Every member is a minister. Real Christ followers grow. Excellence honors God and inspires people. The Message will never change, but the methods must.
Our Strategy Based on the Purpose Driven model, we will focus on growing the church from the outside in. We will do everything we can to go out into the community and draw a crowd to church events. Once there, we will challenge people to: commit to Christ and to NLCC, commit to grow spiritually, and commit to discovering their spiritual gifts and mission in life.
To sum it all up, we want to be the church for people that don't like "church" as they have known it before!
