The author of Hebrews argues that Jesus is superior to anyone or anything that has ever existed.

The letter’s original recipients were being tempted to depart from the Christian faith and revert to Judaism’s rules and regulations. The author explains that since Jesus is the Son of God, He is greater than the prophets, angels, Moses, Joshua, and the priests of the old covenant. Like the world of the Bible, our present world offers many different religious roads to salvation, but Hebrews reminds us over and over that Jesus is greater than all and His way is the only way to made right with God.
